Windeyer Loop

This ride takes out to Windeyer. The town itself is about 2km after the turnoff. There is not much happening in town, although the Caravan Park is your best bet to get something to eat or drink.

There are a few climbs to negatiate on the way out, but once you reach the top of Quuens Pinch at the 55km mark, you have a very fast (and initially steep) return to Mudgee.

This route is completely sealed (as of 2022). Some maps may show short gravel sections, but these are now gone. The route takes you above 700masl for a fair distance – this area can be a bit cooler and windier. But once you get past Windeyer, the ride feels very remote – very few cars will come your way.
