Mt Misery

Mt Misery looms over Mudgee, presenting a formidable barrier. Multiple trails climb the mountains, the most accessible is the climb up to Mt Misery from Rifle Range Rd via Telstra Towers. This climb offers fantastic views of Mudgee, and if you are early (and brave) enough to make the climb in Winter, you may be rewarded with a slendid vista of Mudgee carpeted in fog.

From the top, you can descend into the Common, but this track is one for the free riders. Alternatively, you can head back via Redbank, with its multiple creek crossings.

And keep an eye out for a dinosaur! And ther is also an old observatory, along with plenty of flowers in spring.
